Joyce Kitchens and Randy New are the founding members of Kitchens New LLC. Kitchens New LLC was formed to serve the personal and business needs of clients who need and appreciate, concerned, and involved legal counsel. The firm operates in a number of practice areas with a common theme of helping companies and people whatever their needs. Joyce Kitchens is a founding member of Kitchens New LLC. She currently practices law in the following areas: employment disputes, personal injury, divorce, and corporate and business issues. She has represented plaintiffs and defendants and understands all aspects of litigation. She has represented many small and start-up businesses.

Ms. Kitchens graduated from the Emory University School of Law in Atlanta, Georgia. Following law school, she served as a staff attorney with the Department of Veterans Affairs, and was promoted to Assistant District Counsel. She defended the agency in cases involving claims of employment discrimination, personal injury, medical malpractice, and contract disputes. She also has served as a volunteer with Interfaith Volunteer Lawyers representing indigent defendants in Fulton County Municipal Court.

In 1991, Ms. Kitchens left the government for private practice. Her representation has included individuals, small businesses, government agencies, and municipalities. She has had extensive involvement in the areas of employment discrimination, including representation of federal employees.

Randy L. New is the managing member of Kitchens New LLC, Attorneys at Law. He currently practices law in the following areas: corporate and business issues, personal injury, malpractice, divorce, and telecommunications. As to corporate and business issues, Mr. New has represented and continues to represent some of the nation's largest companies.

Mr. New started the practice of law in the firm of Lamon, Elrod & Harkleroad focusing on tax and corporate transactions. Thereafter, he began working at BellSouth Enterprises with companies in the equipment, publishing and wireless fields. He was the Vice President of Public Policy of BellSouth Corporation, reporting to the Vice Chairman of the company. His experience at BellSouth as both an executive and a lawyer was wide-ranging, including mergers and acquisitions, tax and employee benefits law, corporate law, the customer premises equipment business, government contracting, equipment leasing, and federal and state regulatory issues.

Jeffery M. Cleghorn is a Partner with the Atlanta law firm of Kitchens New, LLC, located in Buckhead. His practice consists primarily of General Civil Litigation, Family Law (Divorce, Custody Disputes, Modifications), Domestic Partnership Agreements and Disputes, Contracts, Employment Discrimination, and Wills & Estate Planning.

Mr. Cleghorn is a 1984 distinguished military graduate of North Georgia College in Dahlonega, where he received a B.A. in Political Science. After graduation, he received a commission as an Officer in the Army's Military Intelligence Corps. His military career included overseas assignments in South Korea and Germany, and stateside assignments in Arizona and South Carolina. Mr. Cleghorn spent his final years in the Army working in Washington, D.C. for the Defense Intelligence Agency at the Pentagon, on the Joint Staff (Directorate for Intelligence). His military awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Staff Commendation Medal, and the Parachutists Badge.

Alexander S. Lurey is an associate attorney with Kitchens New LLC, Attorneys at Law.  He currently practices law in the following areas: corporate and business issues, telecommunications and civil litigation.  As to corporate and business issues, Mr. Lurey assists in representing some of the nation’s largest companies.

Mr. Lurey started the practice of law clerking for the Honorable S. Lark Ingram in Cobb County Superior Court.  Thereafter, he practiced with the firm of Dennis, Corry, Porter & Smith, LLC focusing on motor carrier and complex litigation matters.
